Oi folks,
Earlier this year I was assigned to do 3 full page illustrations for Scientific American Magazine, Special Report on State of the World's Science 2013, so those are finally published [print and web] and now I can brag about it shamelessly! But before that: massive thanks for great art direction goes to Jason Mischka.
Shortly on articles illustrated:
a) Financing labs: old investments bringing today's innovations, and today's investments bringing future innovations. I had a multi-channel pipette in my head for years, so this is a double portion of joy, as I've finally got a chance to include it to the illustration.
b) Advantages and disadvantages of global scientific collaboration (teamwork, sharing resources and knowledge).
c) Cultural issues stopping the progress of science in Mexico: having low tolerance for failing, danger of being painfully stigmatised for a minor mistake.
