Book Feature: Late Night Coffee

Oi everyone,

I've just received this little package, opened it and got totally over-excited to see my Late Night Coffee illustration featured among some seriously talented people in a beautiful "Just Add Watercolor" book by Helen Birch! It even got it's spot on a cover which makes it a double celebration. And yes, I'll keep bragging about this shamelessly. ☕💪💙

Spending Cuts. Big times.

What would you sacrifice?

Ladies&Gents, I'm presenting you my latest work  - Spending Cuts series of 6 (all images available HERE) - vector drawings mixed with paper collages, a technique that I'm developing recently so I could work faster than when making paper cut-outs (that I still enjoy making though).

This was born in my head while listening to Morning Joe podcast on MSNBC and hearing 'budget cutes' 'spending cuts' 'everyone has to sacrifice' and etc all the time, and they drink coffee there as Starbucks is their 'brewer', so it all somehow mixed in my head as I thought on ways to save personal money,  and those thoughts gave birth to this little series of 6. 

So, what would you sacrifice? Coffee breaks maybe?

Last Sunny Days in Moscow

no, its not one of London pubs. Its a nice place in central Moscow.

You can feel winter crawling towards Moscow,  although you cant see it yet. But i know that wind, and its getting colder. So while its still sunny, I decided to use one of those few sunny Sundays left for long walks in Moscow with my man next to me sharing one cup of take-away coffee. I love this city, especially the old-town, especially if you can still see the sun behind all that eclectic architecture in the horizon.

The evening kept going in a pub drinking virgin Mojito and ended up with watching 'the American' (the slowest and most boring film you could imagine with George Clooney). 300 roubles for a ticket totally wasted away. Rather kept walking in the old-town for two hours with my man for free and counting all those colours and shapes surrounding me.

No, its not a disney-land. Beautiful architecture. Less is more? no, More is more.

to sum up the week:

• main inspiration: Moscow. Not only the old-town; 
• Math exercise book pages illustrated and designed: 16;
• phrase of the week: Historical improvisations;
• wish for next week: to get and watch 'Waiting for a Superman';
• biggest disappointment: The American;
• self initiated projects it my head:1;
• self initiated projects actually started: 0;
• pages read in Russian (Bulgakov): 9;
• music: Adele. yes yes, i know, but Adele. 
• people I miss: too many.
